Safety Follows from Respect for Human Rights

(Before It's News)

There is no compromise when it comes to my human rights. I have a right to make my own decisions in concert with other people. A contract with an airline, in the form of a plane ticket, is an example of that. TSA gets in the middle of our agreement, trampling my right to make my own decisions. We need *effective* security that doesn’t compromise human rights.

It’s sad to see people so thoroughly scared that they’re determined not only to cede all of their rights in the name of an illusory safety, but also lean on their fellow man to do the same.

There can be no safety unless we all first respect each other’s human rights.
