I thought the new “Trusted Traveler” internal passport was going to be entirely voluntary. I thought it would be based on information provided by the individuals applying for these new passports.

But now it appears TSA administrator John Pistole plans to raid 40 years of airline databases for information about us travelers. Are the airlines selling us out (again)? Will the government force them to turn this information over?
