Meet Ethan Ireland, 1st Assistant Director for ground breaking new TV series: RELLIK

“Quiet on set! Yes, that means you” Ethan Ireland, 1st Assistant Director of RELLIK.
Have you ever stood in a crowd of people who remain silently frozen in suspended animation? Imagine being the person responsible for ensuring that everyone remains silent and stands in the appropriate spots. On a film production this is one of the many responsibilities of the 1st Assistant Director (AD). RELLIK a groundbreaking new TV series had the honor of bringing on Ethan Ireland to fill this role, and he truly rocked it. Today you get to hear from him about what it was like to be the 1st AD of RELLIK.

Ireland shares his experiences as the 1st Assistant Director of RELLIK, and also shares why the production ran so smoothly. “After 15 years in professional media production, it is a rare thing when I encounter a production that operates as smoothly “RELLIK” did. I’ve worked on about a dozen feature films, numerous television programs and over a hundred episodes of the internet’s #1 web series, so I have the experience to say categorically that this team rocked” Ireland.
RELLIK is a SAG new media TV series filmed in the Sacramento region. It promises to keep the audience guessing as they follow the lives of two detectives on the hunt for a serial killer. Ethan Ireland is known for his work as 1st assistant director on 140 episodes of SMOSH, plus much more. He states that “It’s always gratifying when a team of individuals can set aside their individual concerns, come together and dedicate themselves to producing the best show they can as efficiently as possible” Ireland.
Ireland additionally stated that team work was crucial in the filming of this pilot episode. “My work as 1st Assistant Director was made easier by the fantastic 2nd AD team, Brian Perry and Georgia McKenzie. Their work made it so that I could get locations prepped and cast & crew where they needed to be so the director could focus on his creative vision. Without their diligent and tireless contributions, this project would have failed, or at least have been an extremely rocky experience. I only wish all productions could run this smoothly, and I will most definitely be drawing on the assistance of many of my colleagues from this production in my future endeavors” Ireland.
Ireland is joined by Hollywood Veterans: Tim Russ (Director) Christopher Michael Holley (Producer) and Alex Wilkinson (Composer). RELLIK premiers at the Sacramento Wizard World Comic Con in June 2015.
