Conservative radio host Glenn Beck has made no secret of his disdain for Donald Trump. In the primaries, Beck actively endorsed and campaigned for Sen. Ted Cruz, at one point proclaiming him to be sent from God. When Cruz lost and Trump became the Republican nominee, Beck wholeheartedly joined the NeverTrump crowd. And when Cruz finally endorsed The Donald last month, Beck angrily denounced him.

Now, with less than a month to go before Election Day, Beck is defiantly opposing Trump to the bitter end. On his Facebook page this weekend, Beck said that every person needed to “decide what is a bridge too far.”

“It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity,” Beck wrote. “If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice.”

Of the woman who will be president if Trump loses, Beck wrote in May:

Hillary Clinton, the woman many consider to be the odds-on favorite to become the next president of the United States, believes that in order to bring about the kind of abortion-on-demand world she envisions, “deep-seated cultural codes and religious beliefs have to be changed.” Additionally, she believes that “the unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.”

Beck, who is proudly seated in the Christian wing of the conservative movement, apparently now believes that a woman with those values is less threatening to the United States than Trump. He’s willing to let her shape the Supreme Court in such a way that not only will Roe v. Wade be secure for decades, abortion “rights” will be expanded beyond our wildest imaginations.

Oh, wait, he thinks that principled Republican lawmakers can stop her from realizing her liberal agenda.

“Once elected, Hillary can be fought,” Beck wrote. “Her tactics are blatant and juvenile, and battling her by means of political and procedural maneuvering or through the media, through public marches and online articles, all of that will be moral, worthy of men of principle. Her nominees can be blocked, her proposed laws voted down.”

Right. Has Beck been asleep for the last eight years? If Republicans are as effective against Hillary as they have been against Obama, the 50 stars on the American flag will have been replaced by a hammer and sickle by the time we get to 2020.

“Trump stepping down does not guarantee a Clinton win, but it does guarantee that the Republican party still stands for something, still allows its members to maintain their own self respect and that it still has a future,” Beck concluded.

Cool beans. If you want to make sure Republican politicians get to retain their “self-respect,” vote for Hillary.

That’s what all of this is about, right? Sure. Sure it is.

  • I am NO Beck fan. I agree however that a vote for the lesser of evils is still a vote for evil. The only moral alternative is to let evil men chose their own brand of evil.
