Burma-Myanmar: Burma army has reinforced its troops to the Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) controlled areas

During this week, Burma army has reinforced its troops to the Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) controlled areas, according to the local news sources.

Three battalions of Burma army, totaling over 200-strong, under the control of Military Operation Command 2 based in Mongnawng, have forwarding its troops toward Monghsu from Mongzang, said Sai Maung from Mongzang sub-township.

It is reported that on 21 April, Burma army, a 200-strong troops from Infantry Battalion (IB) 248, Light Infantry Battalions (LIB) 515 and 517, under the control of mid-eastern Military Operation Command 2, loaded with 13 military trucks of troops have been advanced from Kehsi-Mongnawng sub-townships to Mongzang sub-township then toward Pang-gna – Namtawng villages, Mong Awd tract in Monghsu Township. In response to the Burma army movements, Shan State Army (SSA) also have well prepared to defense its position in its controlled area, said a commander in a condition of anonymity.
