Defense update reports, The Russian navy plans to deploy its single aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov, to head the Russian flotilla in the Mediterranean Sea. The Kuznetsov is expected to sail from its current home base in Murmansk, to the Mediterranean in the summer, the TASS news agency reported. The carrier is at berth in Murmansk, where she is refitted for the mission.

The South Korea-US joint military exercises will have a special focus on developing the countries’ joint capability to launch precision strikes on North Korea’s top leadership, state media reported Monday, citing military officials.

Sputnik reports Naval infantry and motorized troops with Russia’s Northern Fleet held amphibious assault training drills in the Far North, the fleet’s spokesman said Saturday.
“Divisions of a separate naval infantry brigade and a separate motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet’s land and coastal forces conducted over-the-beach landing in the Liinakhamari rural locality of Murmansk Region,” Vadim Serga said.
