US Military tanks and soldiers arrive in Poland for Military training exercise. TAPA TRAINING AREA, Estonia – “Fire Mission!” “Fire Mission!” “Fire Mission!” was the sound that was heard to begin the final day of exercises for Saber Strike 16 at Tapa Training Area, Estonia, June 20, 2016.

Nearly 10,000 servicemen from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and the United States have been working and training together over the past few days during Saber Strike 16 leading up to the grand finale.

Today’s exercise included allied and partner-nation ground forces conducting live-fire as they assaulted and breached the objective taking over the enemy’s fighting position along with Field Artillery firing rounds from M777 Howitzers and from a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). A B-52 and two A-10 Thunderbolts (Warthogs) also performed fly-overs as well as AH-64 Apache helicopters, which fired rockets and munitions. Stryker vehicles assisted by firing 120mm mortar rounds and .50 caliber machine gun rounds at the enemy targets.

Mr. Taavi Roivas, the Prime Minister of Estonia, provided some words of encouragement and thanks to the service members from the participating nations for their hard work during the exercise.

“It is great to see all of you service members from so many different nations,” said Roivas. “It is also great to see that all of our nations are working together as one, and that Saber Strike 16 was a great success.”

Roivas went on to say that Saber Strike 16 was a very important testament to the NATO allies’ solidity and interoperability.

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Stephen Gventer, the commander of 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, stationed out of Vilseck, Germany, said that the exercise went very smoothly and was very impressed with the way the service members from so many different nations worked well together.

“Saber Strike 16 was a culminating event that started out at battalion level exercises and worked its way up to brigade level exercises with several of our NATO allies,” said Gventer. “It all led up to today’s live fire exercise, which showed and proved our capabilities of coming together as one army. The bottom line is that NATO is an alliance that can come together quickly and effectively,” he added.

Gventer went on to say that he thought the exercise went very well and that the synchronization of the different capabilities from the several participating nations went very smoothly. (U.S. Army story by Staff Sgt. Steven M. Colvin)

My doctor assured me that just because we live in America we are not immune to radioactive fallout, and weapons. Wonder how this tasty tidbit of information got past all our politicians and military.

  • Saudi Arabia’s Key Military Base in Dhahran Destroyed by Yemen’s Zalzal-3 Ballistic Missile

TEHRAN (FNA)- Military sources disclosed that the Yemeni army has destroyed a strategic airbase of Saudi Arabia in the Southern part of the kingdom with a ballistic missile.

“Saudi Arabia’s Savila military base in Dhahran region was struck by a Yemeni Zalzal-3 missile, and sustained heavy loss and casualties,” a military source said.

There is still no report on the number of casualties, but similar ballistic missile attacks by Yemen have incurred heavy losses on the Saudi personnel and military equipment in the past.

The attack came in response to Saudi Arabia’s continued air raids on the civilian population across the impoverished nation.

On Saturday, the Yemeni army and popular forces pounded the Saudi troops in the Southern parts of the kingdom, killing and injuring tens of Riyadh army men.

The Saudi army’s military positions came under the Yemeni forces’ missiles attack in Najran province in the Southern part of Saudi Arabia which left 60 Saudi troops dead and over 70 others wounded.

The Saudi army’s military equipment and vehicles also sustained heavy losses in the Yemeni missile attack.

Also on Saturday, the Yemeni army and popular forces killed over 40 Saudi soldiers in an ambush operation near al-Baqa border crossing in Najran province.

A large number of the Saudi Army’s military equipment and vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.

Yemen’s military forces usually carry out such attacks against the gatherings of the Saudi mercenaries inside Yemen as well as targets in the kingdom’s Southwest in retaliation for Riyadh’s 19-month-long military campaign against the country.

On Thursday at least 15 Saudi troops were killed during clashes with Yemeni military forces backed by Ansarullah fighters in Saudi Arabia’s Southwestern region of Jizan.

Around 40 Saudi forces were also injured in the failed Wednesday attack on the Yemeni troops, who are holding positions in the region’s mountains.

The Yemeni forces also launched artillery attacks on the Saudi bases in the region and destroyed a Saudi military vehicle.

Earlier, Yemeni troops hit the Malek al-Faisal military base in the city of Khamis Mushait in the Asir region with a ballistic missile.

Yemeni troops also successfully targeted a Saudi military base in the Southwestern Saudi region of Najran, inflicting heavy losses on it.

Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes targeted a civilian vehicle in the Western province of Ma’rib, killing four people and injuring two others. Saudi aircraft also bombed the Bani Matar district in the adjacent province of Sana’a several times.

Al-Dhaher and Haydan districts in the remote Northwestern province of Sa’ada were also pounded by Saudi jets.

More than 11,300 people have died since the kingdom launched its campaign to crush Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and their allies and reinstate the resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
