(Before It's News)

For the second straight day, Al-Qaeda affiliated groups have carried out 2 more outrageous attacks, this time in the capital cities of Iraq and Kenya.

- At least 39 people are dead and more than 150 wounded when al-shabaab enetered Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, asked muslims to leave the mall, then opened fire on everybody.  The situation is 10 hours in and the fight is ongoing there.

- In the Sadr City section of Baghdad, 2 suicide bombers attacked a funeral killing 72 and wounding 120 more.  Worthy to note is another attack six suicide bombers dressed in SWAT uniforms stormed a police commando headquarters in Baiji, where they killed seven policemen and wounded 21 others.

There were some other developments of note today in the war on terror as well…

-  Two brigades of the Free Syrian army that operate in Raqqah province have joined the Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, one of two official al Qaeda affiliates in Syria.  The Raqqah Revolutionaries Brigade and the God’s Victory Brigade have pledged loyalty to the Al Nusrah Front over the past several days, Reuters reported.  The Raqqah Revolutionaries Brigade is said to have more than 750 fighters in its ranks. The size of the God’s Victory Brigade, which announced its merger with the Al Nusrah Front on Facebook, was not disclosed, but it is said to have “15 battalions.” Battalions often have anywhere from dozens to hundreds of fighters.

- An individual wearing an Afghan National Security Forces uniform shot and killed three special forces troops from the International Security Assistance Force and wounded another today in Gardez, the capital of Afghanistan’s eastern Paktia province.

2 days in a row now al-qaeda and its allies have hit hard and furious.  This war is far from over.  -Mort
