DAMASCUS, SYRIA 02/11/2016 The Syrian Army SAA resumed their large-scale offensive in the West Ghouta region of rural Damascus on Wednesday, striking the jihadist terrorists defenses at the farms located to the east of Khan Al-Sheih.
Led by the 4th Mechanized and 7th Armored divisions, the SAA managed to seize more than 400 meters of territory at the Al-Bayda Farms, advancing westward as they inch closer to the strategic town of Khan Al-Sheih. According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Armed Forces resumed their assault at Khan Al-Sheih after the jihadist rebels of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham refused to surrender the town to the government. With winter quickly approaching, the jihadist rebels will find themselves stuck in a difficult situation at Khan Al-Sheih because the entire town is encircled by the Syrian Army.
