I have noticed a phenomenon among most of the people I know – they have no ‘objective’ idea if the last winter was relatively mild or cold. In most cases, they say the complete opposite of what the facts are saying; but somehow they believe to have an excellent feeling in their ‘gut’ on how the weather is going to be, and also claim to have a vivid memory of how the weather was 25 years ago. I doubt it.
According to science, Paris should have already been a port by now. This was a news headliner in the 1980s; that 25 years from then (which is today)Paris is going to have ships coming in from the Atlantic. Believe it or not, but I witnessed it myself.
There were many other predictions how the world will look like in the distant 21st century. Well, for the exception of the Internet and the mobile phone, there hasn’t really changed much, and as far as I know, the ocean stands still at Le Havre.
However, one thing is still the same, the fear and the guilt, that we people have for ‘overheating’ the planet with greenhouse gases, is going around ever since; and politicians are thriving with their campaigns built on mass hysteria.
But as for so many things, it is good to take a look at some of the facts and people that speak against the theory of global warming and the disaster threats that are linked to it. Today it is almost heracy to think any different; we are told that global warming is happening, so it must be like that – no matter what.
