For the first time this fall season, a deep Eastern trough will dig into the Northeastern part of the country early next week. Cold air will pour South beginning this weekend and will be reinforced with a series of clipper storms next week. I’d bet on widespread frost some night and also the likely-hood for the first accumulation of snow in the higher elevations sometime next week.
Once this set up establishes, I expect the pattern to be the rule into mid October. Could it be a sign of the upcoming Winter? No way to tell yet…
