Northern Georgia Residents Caught Off Guard With Tuesday Snow Storm If Not Tuned Into TheWeatherSpace.com

(TheWeatherSpace.com) – Schools housed children overnight and roads were closed, evidently Northern Georgia was not prepared for such a snow event if not tuned into TheWeatherSpace.com.
Projections here at TheWeatherSpace.com indicated on Monday that 1-3″ of snow would hit the Atlanta, Georgia area. The map was revised before the event hit to included all of Northern Georgia in the 1-3″ mark on Tuesday morning at 3am. Up to 3″ of snow was reported and the average was 1.5 – 2″ of snowfall across Northern Georgia. Because of elevation factors, other forecasters such as National Weather Service, local news, and other sites failed to calculate that in where TheWeatherSpace.com maps took that into account.
Being TheWeatherSpace.com is located in Los Angeles, California … snowfall by elevations is easy to calculate and accomplish and therefore Atlanta was an easy forecast.
Roads iced over due to the temperatures being below freezing and they are expected to ice over again tonight into Thursday morning with yet another cold night expected. Black Ice is a danger so be cautious.
Number one rule with weather. Forecasters have guesses on what will happen … but always be prepared for anything with a higher danger than predicted …
Parts of Eastern North Carolina got 10″ of snowfall, the average looked around 6″ …
South areas in SC/NC near the coast got far less than predicted due to the warmer air in that area … which sometimes can be tough to predict. 1.00″ of sleet was reported, which would have otherwise been 10″ of snowfall … matching the map. In the future more studies will be done in producing more accurate maps that take into account the sleet/ice/snow factors
