Weather Alert Central.com – Fall is returning with the storm fronts across the Pacific Northwest this week, with thunderstorms likely for the Northern half of Oregon and the Eastern half of Washington later today through the overnight hours into Tuesday morning.
An area of deeper moisture is bringing isolated thunderstorms to Central Washington this morning. Instability is expected toward later afternoon into the evening across the Northern half of Oregon and this will bring widespread thunderstorm activity to those areas, east of the Cascade Range. This area of storms will move northeast into the Eastern half of Washington overnight and into Tuesday morning. The highest concentration of these storms will be at the WA/OR border this evening into early night.

As for the metro areas of Seattle and the Willamette Valley of Oregon, am seeing a stronger front come in overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. This front will bring a round of heavy rainfall to the area, which can cause some minor flooding potential … being the entire front will have heavy precipitation with it … especially the Coastal Range forecast areas. This is a bomb system, so expecting it to produce some gusty winds across this area as well during that time-frame.
The front will drag into Northern California to San Francisco on Wednesday.
