10 Conspiracy Theories About Weather Modification

Man-made climate change paved the way for American scientists to come up with the idea of weather modification. They reasoned that if daily human activity was already impacting weather patterns, it was acceptable for them to deliberately change the weather for a variety of purposes.
The first meeting about weather modification was held at the end of 1945. At this time, the possibility of using several weather manipulation schemes to America’s advantage during war was discussed. Later, during the Cold War, funds were poured into further research on the topic. This opened the door for using the weather as a secret weapon against enemies. Unfortunately, it also created the opportunity for several people and institutions to use this technology for more sinister purposes. Naturally, this topic is taboo within government organizations, but this hasn’t stopped the theories and even evidence of different “climate engineering events” from popping up all over the Internet.

10. Hurricane Sandy Was An Engineered Superstorm

Many believe that Hurricane Sandy was a product of man-made climate change. Then there are those who believe that the storm itself was man-made. The storm was not even over yet when conspiracy theories started flying around. It is said that President Barack Obama engineered the superstorm that slammed into the eastern seaboard just a week before elections were due to take place to ensure his reelection. Proponents of the theory conclude that Obama needed a situation in which he could be the “hero,” helping those in need and ultimately proving he was the best candidate for president. 
Conspiracy or not, Hurricane Sandy certainly seemed to help Obama’s presidential bid. He even won over Republican governor Chris Christie, who commented that he “kept every promise he made” when the hurricane struck. Christie declared at a press conference that although he disagreed with the president on principles and policy, he had no regrets working with him, a statement for which the governor received considerable backlash. It fueled rumors of an engineered storm, as it seemed that Obama was out to get even the opposition into his corner.
How would a human even be able to engineer a hurricane? If you believe the theories, it would be possible with the help of The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), a government research arm that studies the upper atmosphere. It is believed that HAARP was instrumental in creating Sandy with electromagnetic waves and its SBX platform. Conspiracy theorists are also convinced that Hurricane Katrina was created and steered by HAARP under the order of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
Naturally, HAARP denies any involvement.

9. The Lynmouth Flood Was Caused By Cloud-Seeding

In 1952, 90 million tons of water swept through Lynmouth, a village in Devon. The disaster claimed the lives of 35 people, and 430 lost their homes. It was deemed an “act of God” and a terrible tragedy. However, rumors began to surface that rainmaking experiments may have been to blame for the excessive flooding. It was estimated that the Lynmouth region received 252 times their usual rainfall during the flooding, and it happened within a week of the rainfall experiments undertaken by the Royal Air Force.
It may seem like a creepy coincidence, but it appears to be just that. Experts noted that while rainmaking experiments did indeed take place, only individual cumulus clouds were injected with iodide or dry ice. This led to accelerated rainfall that lasted only about 20 minutes. Furthermore, the flood was not confined to Lynmouth. Heavy showers were reported all over West and South Wales.

8. Operation Popeye

Monsoon season in Vietnam is bad enough without interference from government, but during the Vietnam War, the American government attempted to extend monsoon season by at least 30 days by seeding the clouds over the area with silver and lead iodide. This top secret campaign was known as Operation Popeye and ran from 1967–1972. It allegedly focused on increasing rainfall over the resupply routes in the area, particularly the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
The plan was kept under wraps until 1971, when a reporter uncovered a memo secretly sent to President Johnson. The memo contained the following message: “Laos operations—Continue as at present plus Pop Eye to reduce the trafficability [sic] along infiltration routes & Authorization requested to implement operational phase of weather modification process previously successful tested and evaluated in some area.”
The reporter, Jack Anderson, wasted no time in bringing this information to the public. This ultimately led to the proposal of a treaty between the US and other governments to prohibit the use of weather modification technology during wartime. The ENMOD (Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Any Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques) was signed in 1976 by a host of UN members, ensuring that all forms of weather manipulation are only used for peaceable means.
The American government may deny that Operation Popeye was intended to increase rainfall for sinister purposes, but the conspiracy theories surrounding the project aren’t going away anytime soon. 

7. Yellow Rain

The Hmong people sided with the US during the Vietnam War. This was not taken lightly by the countries of Vietnam and Laos, who declared a different kind of war on the Hmong tribes: chemical warfare. Witnesses described seeing yellow-colored rain falling from the sky that had an oily texture and seemed to cling to whatever it landed on. Others reported seeing helicopters flying low over the land and spraying the oily liquid over the area.
It seemed that the “yellow rain” had some form of acid in it. Many who came into contact with it claimed to have had seizures, and others even alleged that it blinded them permanently. When Vietnam invaded Cambodia in 1978, similar statements were made by the Cambodian people.
Interestingly enough, it seems that experts have now concluded that yellow rain was, in fact, the feces of honeybees, making all of the above just an elaborate conspiracy theory. It was also concluded that the toxins found in the yellow rain were naturally produced by fungi in the bee feces.

6. The California Drought Was Caused By Geo-Engineering

In May 2013, a state of drought was declared in California that persisted throughout the rest of the year, the state’s driest year to date. In December, a massive wildfire broke out near Big Sur, thought to have been spurred by the dry spell. More than 900 acres of land were destroyed in the blaze. The drought continued into 2014.
The logical explanation given by scientists was that the drought was the result of global warming, man-made climate change, or both. Conspiracy theorists are not buying it, though. They are convinced that geo-engineering is to blame for the drought. According to theorists, geo-engineers have cut the rainfall in California with the continuous spraying of aerosols and use of ionosphere heating. By turning California into a desert, its citizens will be at the mercy of the government to supply food they can no longer provide for themselves, leaving the government in total control of the population.
Proponents of the theory are even going as far as to say that there is no natural weather anymore. They believe that continued geo-engineering has caused the planet’s natural climate system to stop functioning. Now, the geo-engineers are simply making up weather patterns as they go along, hurtling America into a state of weather warfare.

5. Solar Radiation Management

Solar radiation management (SRM) is a group of methods to reduce radiation from the sun in the environment by spraying radiation-reflecting chemicals into the atmosphere. The Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued statements regarding the importance of SRM in fending off global warming, but conspiracy theorists are far from convinced. These statements are merely an attempt to placate the population while using this form of weather modification for sinister purposes, they insist.
Touting SRM as a solution to global warming is seen as a push for geo-engineering funding, chiefly because the people promoting the techniques have also asserted that the phenomenon perceived by some to be chemtrails, another popular conspiracy theory, is actually SRM in action.

4. Operation Stormfury

Operation Stormfury was conceived for a noble purpose, or so it seemed. The project was meant to reduce the damage caused by hurricanes by reducing their wind speed. The operation ran from 1962–1983 and involved creating artificial convection just outside the eye of the storm with silver iodide seeding. The iodide created a new eye wall, which would close the original eye of the storm, reducing its intensity. This process was tested with four hurricanes and showed promising results. At one point, hurricane wind speed was reduced by up to 30 percent. 
However, the results of the operation have been called into question. It was proven that unmodified hurricanes didn’t contain enough supercooled water for cloud seeding to have the desired effect. Critics concluded that the original results of modification couldn’t be trusted, as no positive differentiation was made between modified hurricanes and natural ones.
Conspiracy theories abound that the US military simply wanted to see if they could control hurricanes to their advantage. Under the guise of “wanting to increase protection and lessen damage caused by these storms,” the military could experiment to their hearts’ content. 

3. Europe Is “Stealing Rain” From Iran

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is convinced that Europe is using special technology to drain rain clouds over Iran and cause it to rain over Europe instead. He accused Western countries of conspiring to cause droughts in marked areas, including Iran. Ironically, just after he made this statement during an inauguration ceremony, it started raining.
Ahmadinejad is known to be a conspiracy theorist, and many regard him as a lunatic. However, considering all the other theories about weather modification, his claims don’t seem that far-fetched. He went on to claim that an unidentified politician predicted in an article that there would be droughts in Iran, Turkey, and surrounding areas for the next 30 years. Most have brushed him off as a rambling maniac, but what if there is some truth to his words? 

2. Chemtrails

If you were to believe various conspiracy theories, airplane contrails that disperse slowly are actually what’s known as “chemtrails.” Rather than harmless vapor, chemtrails are said to be chemicals sprayed into the atmosphere by government institutions.
Widespread suspicion about chemtrails really took off in the ’90s, after the US Air Force published a paper about their research on weather modification. When cloud-seeding was used at the Beijing Olympic Games as an effort to reduce the terrible air pollution problem, conspiracy has it that its real purpose was to get rid of threatening rain clouds before the games began. Other popular theories include weather modification being used to control the population, curb global warming, and divert public attention from the testing of military weapons.
Governments are sticking to their guns on the topic on chemtrails. They insist that all visible vapor lines in the air are just contrails, no matter how long it takes to disperse. The worst thing about the chemtrails conspiracy is that it distracts from the real danger of contrails caused by aircraft, which is that they may contribute to global warming.

1. HAARP

At the center of most weather modification conspiracies is the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP). This military research organization is thought to be a secret weapon in weather modification schemes. Considering that HAARP really does exist and its purpose really does include weather-related research, it has become difficult to separate the conspiracy from what could be the truth. 
A CBC documentary probably said it best with this quote: “It isn’t just conspiracy theorists who are concerned about HAARP. In January of 1999, the European Union called the project a global concern and passed a resolution calling for more information on its health and environmental risks. Despite those concerns, officials at HAARP insist the project is nothing more sinister than a radio science research facility.”
Naturally, HAARP itself denies any sinister agenda, but that doesn’t make them any less suspicious when it comes to weather warfare conspiracies. Even the appearance of its Alaska facility gives way to conspiracy theories. Outside is a mass of antennae that forms a geometric pattern, and barbed wire ensures that the public doesn’t get to see any further than this bizarre spectacle. The antennae are even the subject of their own conspiracy theory: Some believe they could be responsible for earthquakes such as the massive 8.9 quake that struck Japan in 2011. It is thought that focusing the antennae on a specific point in the ionosphere long enough can cause it to pull away and then snap back into place with so much force that it can cause earthquakes.
HAARP has been blamed for Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Wilma, and Rita. It has even been said that the organization is actively practicing mind control on American citizens with shortwave radio signals.

   Items 7 & 8.  During the Vietnam War, attached Australian and NZ military units coined the phrase “Being pissed on from a great height”.  It was in reference to the cow urine (uric acid) that was sprayed in Operation Popeye aka Motorpool aka Intermediary aka Compliant aka….
   The phrase is still in common usage in specialist Brit military units.

   Great information as usual, Dane…some of those events I had researched but some I had yet to hear of. I know that this post is going to be long but I have to share what I have been studying about and I need to reach as many people as I can. I know that Nikola Tesla’s patents were stolen when he died and were passed onto the military industrial complex and one of those had to do with weather modification.  Over the last three years I have easily invested over 12,000 hours into reading, researching and listening to documentaries and lectures (which is how I found your work) and I have  a very good grasp on what is taking place and unless more people wake up, I fear that there is going to be mass genocide on a scale even bigger than the one they have now. I have found from my research that the power elites came up with this plan for zero growth and the de-industrialization of the western world (America in particular) in the mid 60′s and the Club of Rome was formed in 1969 (an offshoot of the U.N) to put a plan together to make this happen…that is where the idea for Agenda 21 came about at the Rio conference in 1992.
   You were absolutely ”dead on” when you said that there were psychopaths in places of power that are not capable of empathy or compassion for their fellow man. They have an agenda where they want two classes, the small elite class and the serfs. It’s a technocratic, feudalistic society they wish to impose and they will be making “God like” decisions on who is permitted to live and those that will have to go because they will never submit to this type of system. Control the food, control the energy and control the water and you control the people.. These elites and their bloodlines have been obsessed with population control since the 1920′s and few people realize that America had a eugenics program back then. This geo-engineering program is being used to control the food supply and with smaller yields, the last hold outs of family farmers will have to sell and Monsanto will be there to buy them up for pennies on the dollar. Their drought resistant seeds that will grow in aluminum corrupted soil has already been proven to cause sterilization in mice after three generations. Atrazine which is sprayed on 50 percent of all our corn crops has been proven to cause cause gender-bending abnormalities in amphibians and this is being fed to our children which furthers the de-population agenda. I know Tyrone Hayes, the researcher that tried to release this information and they have been hounding him  relentlessly and trying to discredit his work. Right now huge multi-national corporations are trying to get total control of the fresh water supplies and I found a disturbing connection. The majority shareholders all have ties to the mostly foreign owned Federal Reserve bankers that hijacked our currency in 1913. I could give a two hour lecture easily and just scratch the surface about what I see is going on. I have been trying to reach out to civic groups about giving a presentation but I haven’t been able to get a response. What is so frightening to me is that they are doing more spraying at night now since people are waking up. Since I work third shift, I get home just as the sun is coming up and the chemtrail clouds that they create have a pumpkin orange type tint lining to them because the sun is hitting them in such a way that it reflects the nano particulates of metals while REAL clouds are not shrouded at all. We have reached a very critical point and we need more people to stand up and be counted. I know for a fact that there are inner-agency wars going on where the “white hats” are trying to stand up for us but they need to see that people are waking up so that their efforts are not in vain and risking their lives needlessly. When I am not reading or researching, I am spreading the word…I couldn’t even tell you what TV show is all the rage…haven’t watched TV in over three years. Good on ya, Dane….you are one of my heroes and I am proud to stand by you.

   I have photos taken in 6 towns (that’s all the towns to which I’ve been) since the horrific afternoon storm which took place over Puglia – and quite likely a much greater area – in mid October. During the storms the entire area was sprayed with what I now take to be called ‘black goo’; about which I have been reading & listening. The visible result was like the most severe, closely set, thick rash of black, tar-like measles spots, (average size about 1 inch in diameter) sprayed thickly over streets, pavements, walls – hospital courtyards – the lot. They were, at the outset, impossible to clean and still remain – though 2 months of wear & tear has made them just a little more difficult to see. Some seem to have been ‘cleaned’ with bleach. They are just as easy to see, but a dirty white now.
   I noticed them first on the paving under my solar panels about 6km from my nearest town. At that point the substance was obviously thinner because, though the spots were almost touching, they were much much smaller – like huge rain drops. On the panels themselves – without a great camera – I took pictures of some objects which seem to me to be like tiny parachutes, with a ballast of 3 tiny grains of whatever (metal perhaps). Thesae I’m not sure about. People say it’s just bird crap. I don’t think so.
   By far the most incredible thing was that – though the appearance of all these places was dramatically changed overnight – NOBODY ELSE seemed to have noticed. When I showed the huge black spots to people, they said it was just chewing gum!!! I pointed out that, during the night, for instance – in the soaking rain, millions of people must have visited the hospital courtyard, for instance, chewed non-stop like crazy  all night – as many gums as they could – somehow dyed them uniformly pitch black – and disappeared without being seen.
   Although a few pictures of the effect on a marble-topped table and my solar-panel enclosure were shown on the S.Wales chemtrail & anti-geoengineering group site, I haven’t managed to draw any more attention to them. I tried to post a few photographs on this site without success. I haven’t seen mention of this extraordinary phenomenon elsewhere. Surely somebody must be interested? If so, please advise.

What matters most is the fact that the issue of climate engineering is rising to the surface, there will be no hiding the atmospheric aerosol assault for much longer.

     Good morning Chris,  I think the vast majority of people live in an illusion that their education system is accurate and Truthful. My Dad taught all his life, and one day in his early seventies he leaned against the barn and said to me, ” Do you know how bad it feels to have taught children lies all my life? “.  I reassured him that it matters little, the important thing is that he came to a greater understanding and awareness before it became time for him to transition to the next stage of growth.  I am not very keen on this device yet,  but I will try attaching a link for John Taylor Gatto’s ” The Ultimate History Lesson “.  It is lengthy but very informative.    Kudos and never-ending thanks to Dane and all who share and attempt to enlighten those with their heads up their arses: you are heroes and heroines like none other. I have learned SO much from each of you, and stand with you, every step of the way.
   My comment/question, this time, is in re Hurricane Sandy: how did the “meteorologists” somehow “know” the storm would change directions, despite eons of history, and days ahead of its bizarre and unprecedented turn Westward? Huh? It’s all too reminiscent of Building 7 that magically imploded, seemingly wiping out all records of corporations hiding huge tax frauds while also reaping its owner billions of dollars due to trickster insurance nuances he requested, days prior to 9/11. 
   As a subset to this, please investigate the meaning of one’s name when printed in all CAPITAL LETTERS, its relation to “straw man”, “admiralty law,” and the difference between the United States of America, and U.S.A., Incorporated.
   We weep together, my friends. We can put a stop to this, together, too, but time is of the essence. Not all will survive, so it’s imperative we take care of our bodies and not eat or drink from the corporatist bigAgra poisons when possible. Start here: grow some organic sprouts, and eat, juice, or plant them; choose a variety of colorful foods at every opportunity; do not drink fluoridated water. And do NOT look to an MD, who has between 0 and 4 hrs of nutrition education, for nutritional advice! Start doing YOUR research before the grid collapses.

    I first noted Chemtrails in 2006 in central Arkansas near where I live and work. I had read about them on the web for a couple of years prior to that time but had never seen any. Contrails were and are a common phenomena, but not so with the long lasting and slowly dispersing type I refer to as Chemtrails. These later type have become a common site here over the past few years and can be seen in association with the regular contrails we all grew up watching in the sky.Contrails are basically condensed water vapor created from the burning of jet fuel and its rapid cooling as it exhausts from the jet engine of the aircraft. A pilot friend and I checked the aircraft laying down chemtrails against an air traffic controller Ap on his laptop[ and noted that no commercial flights were creating these long lasting emisssions and that different planes flying at the same altitude were leaving different signature emissions. We alsonoted thtat plane leaving the "chemtrails" often followed irratic and often curved flight plans while commercial flights leaving short contrails almost always followed staight paths through the sky. Chemtrails are a different form of contrail from the regular short lived ones I watched for years as a kid growing up. Their purpose remains unexplained, but they are definetly there and definetly no your run of the mill contrail. When chemtrails are viewed against a bright sunset they create a rather lovely and unusual "metalic" glow. When they are prevalent on a clear day they will coalesce and change a deep blue sky to light blue. Contrails always disperse leaving no visible lasting trace. Check all of this out for yourself. All you need do is look up and pay attention.

      Tom, commercial planes are spraying, they may not have any passengers in them, but I have pictures with spray on and off right above my house here in AZ, and I'm not in a flight path. I quickly check on flightradar24.com, and most times there will be No Callsign displayed on the plane when you place the mouse over it, where as the one's on the flight path will have numbers and when you click on them they have departure and destination on the left side of screen.

      Remember Dane Mentioning that Main Stream Media manipulates and covers up the actual true facts, as far as the U.S. Economy current status and Unemployment, as well as The Baltic Dry Index (BDI), which is currently at historical record lows. I read, that Wal-Mart is planning to close 269 of it’s Express stores, affecting 16,000 jobs internationally and 10,000 jobs nationally(U.S.). Mainstream Media says Unemployment is at it’s lowest 5.9%, since before the 2008 economic recession! That number is totally erroneous. What about all the people that are unaccounted for, that have fallen out of the statistics, like the people whose unemployment benefits have expired (I was one of those people at one time) or have simply given up job seeking. Jobs report’s state, that there have been 300,000 jobs created in 42 consecutive months running, but the bogus report fails to mention what type of jobs are being created. Full-time with benefits, Part-time without benefits, Contracts, Temporary, Sesonal, etc? I called the local News here in Jacksonville, Florida to challenge the reporters on their data/statistics. The reporters told me they cannot give their personal thoughts or opinions on this information and that they acquired the data from Washington. If I was a Jounrnalist/News Reporter, I would not go along with that information, which sounds too good to be true and I would do my own research and investigation! If you want to know about who controls Global Oil/Fuel Prices research OPEC- The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Gas at the pump is still way over-priced, why are the fuel grades 87,89, 93 so unproportionally incremented and why is diesel fuel priced higher than unleaded fuel, since the cost is less to produce/refine diesel, compared to unleaded fuel. I am not sure if Dane or anyone else here has mentioned a YouTube video 7:35 by Kristen Meghan USAF Chemtrails Whistleblower, she mentions this website as the best full scale detailed anti- GeoEngineering site to reference, for proof of evidence and great examples.  I watched the video earlier today, I encourage everyone to watch it!
