(Before It's News)

The model here at Southern California Weather Force is predicting much higher temperatures for the coming heatwave than it did the other day and this is bad because it is now signaling a heatwave magnitude to produce deadly heat in the basin/valley and desert regions of the forecast area.  Read more for details …

A ridge of high pressure will build into the region this weekend, with Saturday on a slightly incline in temperatures and Sunday and Monday being the peak days with cooling after Tuesday.  Heat risk levels here at Southern California Weather Force are projected to be extreme, with temperatures nearing 115F degrees in some Inland areas and an AVERAGE temperature of 110F!

The heat will be a ‘dry heat’ and humidity will not accompany it at the surface … however even 110F+ is considered deadly heat even if dry so this “It’s a dry heat” will not matter much at all.  Weather services with the government have released a heat risk and claim that the Inland Valleys will only be at ‘orange’ risk, which states that it happens many many times a year and is nothing to worry about.  I will say right now that graphic is going to downright kill people if you listen to it …

Temperatures are now projected to be 122F in the Brawley / El Centro areas and 120F along the Colorado River.  Traffic hazards are expected on Sunday for Fathers Day as people flock to the beaches.  Temperatures along the coast could be in the upper 80s to 90F with 95+ a few miles inland.

Inland Valleys – 108 to 115
Few miles from coast – 96 to 103
Coast – 85 to 92
High Deserts – 106 to 110
Low Deserts  – 114 to 122
Las Vegas – 110 to 115

Fire risks are going to be elevated with this as well …

Temperatures will decline after the mid part of the week as an eddy gets established and June Gloom returns to the metros … but as usual … the deserts will remain hot.  Heat is expected to return toward the end of the month as we continue in this see-saw pattern
