OK, I was watching flightaware, because they have good radar, and I saw the NOAA P3 head south off the tip of Florida, right along the edge of the hurricane, and at one point they do a 90 deg turn, and head straight towards the eye. So I thought this was interesting, so I started to take some stills from flightaware. Here’s the first.
Notice the eyewall. It has very little red, and was seeming to get less.
Here’s image 2
Notice the red dots right as the P3 goes through the eyewall.
Now, after the plane passes
It’s still on the radar right now, you can watch it for yourself.
The NOAA Aircraft on this tracker is nicknamed…Ms Piggy.
