USDA’s reporting another solid week for soybean export inspections. Bean inspections for the week ending August 2 were towards the low end of estimates but still more than what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the marketing year. Corn and wheat inspections both fell short of their respective marks.
Wheat came out at 20.901 million bushels, up 1.841 million from the week ending July 26 but down 6.402 million from the week ending August 4, 2011. At this point in the 2012/13 marketing year, wheat inspections are 167.882 million bushels, compared to 212.056 million in 2011/12.
Corn was reported at 19.887 million bushels, 1.636 million lower than the previous week and 16.428 million less than this time last year. For the 2011/12 marketing year to date, corn inspections are 1.429 billion bushels, compared to 1.668 billion in 2010/11.
Soybeans were pegged at 12.720 million bushels, 2.888 million below the prior week but 6.495 million above a year ago. With less than a month left in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 1.295 billion bushels, compared to 1.455 billion late last year.
Sorghum totaled 1.648 million bushels, 1.518 million under the week before and a decrease of 1.113 billion from a year ago. 2011/12 sorghum inspections are 50.252 million bushels, compared to 140.040 million in 2010/11.
