All over the world people are "Occupying" in an attempt to bring about a greater awareness of social and economic inequalities and injustice. The hope is that the Occupy Movement will help enlighten humanity so that there can be a systemic change in which humane ideals take precedence over fear and greed.
Nobody knows how all of this will turn out. But the Occupy Protesters are doing what they can.
Perhaps we can do the same in our own minds.
It is time for us to challenge our own fear based thinking and "Occupy" the present.
That means we let go of preconceived notions fed to us by the constant conditioning of our consumerist culture. Instead we can mindfully remain present to the life that is in ourselves and all around us. We can become one with the rhythm of life so that our awareness expands to the One Life that is everything, including ourselves.
Once we realize (experience) the reality of this Oneness then those that program the fear and greed begin to lose their power over our consciousness.
If we can take time to Occupy the Present in Mindfulness then we are also, like the Occupy Protesters, doing a great service for the life of the planet. Indeed, there is nothing stopping us from Occupying the Streets as we also Occupy the Present.
What we are presently witnessing in the Occupy Movement is a real transformation in consciousness that is transcending the fear and greed consciousness.
Let's Occupy our World, both inner and outer.
