Maricopa County Voter ID Info Lists Incorrect Election Date…but Only in Spanish

Arizona’s headline-making Maricopa County has now apologized for errors made on information that came along with certain voter ID cards after the mistake raised concerns over potential voter suppression.

On the piece that came with certain Maricopa voter ID cards, it listed election day as November 8th, instead of November 6th, but only in Spanish. Where listed in English, the election days were correct.

The Maricopa County Elections Department has since apologized for the mistake and say it was only made on voter ID information given over the counter and not those mailed out to voters.

While the Elections Department claims that fewer than 50 people received documents with incorrect information, some voters, like Charlotte Walker who spoke with ABC15 say it could “have a significant impact on the election outcome.”

It should be noted that the 50 people is an estimate made by the Elections Department based on the number of people who received their voter IDs over the counter in previous years.
