A refreshing shower to cleanse the body and spirit is something we all look forward to, but do we really know what is in the “soap” we use each day? The truth is – you probably aren’t even using real soap, but rather detergent. Unless you already use natural or organic soap, take our challenge.

 

Discover What’s Really in Your Non Organic Soap

Head to your bath and look at the back of the label of your cleansing product or peruse the colorful packages and snazzy named detergents along the soap aisle. Does it say moisturizing bar, body wash, beauty bar, or something similar? Look now for the word soap. Do you see it? Again, it’s likely that you don’t see it within that long list of synthetic lathering agents and unpronounceable chemicals because manufacturers cannot claim that their product is soap if it really isn’t.

 

Dangers of Using Chemically Processed Soaps Instead of Organic Soap

When you see contents that include phthalates, remember that they are linked to reproductive issues in humans and animals, and the preservative paraben is linked to cancer. Antibacterial products are laced with triclosan, a highly toxic substance proven to contribute to cancer. Triclosan can remain on the application area for as long as 12 hours after use, so the skin will literally be absorbing the chemical for half a day!

Our skin is the largest organ of the body and highly porous and absorbent, so if you get into the shower and lather up with harsh chemicals, they will eventually seep into other parts of the body. Repetitious use of such products permits the body to store chemicals in fat tissue and the brain increasing the likelihood of accumulated toxins and illness.

Many commercially made soap-type products are not only dangerous for your skin but also the planet. After all, these products eventually work their way into the ecosystem with every lather that goes down the drain. A recent report for the Royal Society of Chemistry exhibits that the synthetics in soaps, body washes, shampoos and the like have begun working their way into water purification plants – not a good sign for those depending on the drinking water sourced from the plant….
