Is this how we wish to view our Gardai? Did I just see the future?

I saw this photo today and to my personal horror I think upon what the future of policing in our society is to be. I remember a time when the local Garda was Seamus, local member of the GAA, a father, a brother, a cousin, a man who was respected because he was the law and he applied it fairly and even handedly. When ever one of us “young lads” acted the wag, Seamus was fully inclined to “give us a slap or a kick in the arse” for stepping out of line. And can you imagine going home and saying to your Da, Seamus hit me a kick in the hole last night? Well a number of larger kicks would ensue cos if you caused Seamus to kick ya you should have got more. But look at this this specimen, this guy give the first impression of a nightclub bouncer, oozing a fear factor. And fear is the key, be afraid, be very afraid. But then this guy works for you, he is a public servant, paid for by you to protect you.
But this guy has not even got and ID number on his lapels, we dont know what unit or who he is attached to. He is just a hired thug. Well maybe he isnt, but I dont know that he isnt. I dont even know if he is a registered Gardai, I can buy those hats (made in China) for €5 down the market.
Are we going to allow our society to descend further into this type of policing?. Maybe you are all comfortable with this , but Im not. Apathy is where we allow these things to fester. And let me tell you, this festering will not bode well. This image of the young gardai only tells me that we are breeding a group of young men brought up on a diet of cheap non nutrient food, pumped up on Red Bull Energy or Monster Ebergy drinks, who have passed a lowered IQ test level examination and who are excellent at Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto and have humanity completely erased from their pysches. God help us !
Anyway, is it legal for a police officer in Ireland to be unidentifiable? Please let us know.
