Ancient Mayan civilization has fascinated people for centuries as they were so advanced with mathematical and astronomy equations and the world famous Mayan 2012 calendar. Many sites confuse the Mayan calendar with the Aztec calendar but these civilization were hundred of years a part . The Maya civilization was from 2000 BC to 250AD.

Where as the Aztec civilization didn’t start till 1200 Ad and finished when the Spanish arrived in 1519 AD. Their calculations for the universe is beyond our imagination and they did this with out telescopes or computers and their readings of the universe will be accurate for millions of years an incredible feat. They were far more advanced than any Mesoamerican civilizations before and after them.
The Earth takes 26,000 years to rotate to a position where the sun is aligned in the middle of the Milky Way. The Earth was in an ice age last time this alignment happened. This Galactic alignment will take place on the 21st December 2012 at 11.11 GMT. Also referred to as Galactic conjunction which is an alignment of two cosmic bodies as seen from Earths perspective. Also a less known alignment is a rare Venus Conjuction which occurs on 6-6-2012 and then 3 months later on 28-3-2013.
Some researchers believe the effects of these alignments will be over a longer time period that just one day. Ancient Mayan 2012 calendar predicted this rift known as dark rift. Many researchers believe that magnetic forces on Earth will be affected by this alignment. Many predict natural disasters from solar flares, cosmic storms. Others predict a spiritual awakening with massive political shifts. Many modern day Mayans say it is simply a new beginning of cycles as their ancient life’s evolved around the cycles of harvest and seasons

Being a gemstone wholesaler dealer and opal miner for over 20 years has given me the experience and inspiration to investigate geological aspects and to follow gemstone formations. This has lead me to investigate the history of the Mayan crystal skull. The fascination has pursued me to research the whole Ancient Mayan race and the 2012 doomsday calendar. This investigation of over two years is now reaching near it’s end and has revealed remarkable facts that the melting of Andes glaciers revealing sphagnum moss may be the key to realising that the world will not end on the 21st of December 2012.
Many people have viewed television shows about snow melting in the Andes mountain of Peru. I visited these snow caps in May 2012 and found that locals confirmed the snow melting at around 60 meters a year. About 20 years ago the snow would only melt a few meters per year, however snow melting is now a worldwide event.
An Andes documentary reveals grass that has been frozen by a glacier. Due to the melting of the snow, the grass is now clearly visible to see and touch. The strange question you ask is that how can grass be so well preserved? It is a fact that grass would shrivel and die in a matter of weeks or months. Many researchers suspect that an event happened quickly to freeze the grass before it rotted. However I had discovered that the grass unveiled is actually not grass, but in fact Sphagnum moss.
During my visit in the mountains of Peru, I had seen vast amounts of this moss. 30 years ago I had a nursery business and purchased sphagnum moss from Tasmania, that is why I am familiar with its appearance and nature. There are hundreds of species of this moss worldwide. One of it’s characteristics is to absorb water like a sponge and therefore grows in bogs or wet lands. This specific properties is particularly the reason why it is used in the floral industry. I have witnessed bags of moss years old and still displaying colour as when it was picked. So when I watched the Andes documentary, I had realised it was not grass that was shown but clearly a species of sphagnum moss.
Many researchers commented that the last time the Earth experienced a Galactic alignment was 26,000 years ago. The conclusion has been that the Earth rotated quick or instantly thus freezing the grass. The last major ice age reached it’s peak about 26,000 years ago, held steady for about 7,000 years and then began melting 19,000 years ago. The melting is not primarily due to global warming, as it’s currently assumed today, but in fact due to an increase in solar radiation.
Today the glaciers are melting around 60 meters a year and exposing this moss. Is it possible that the ice 26,000 years ago expanded and froze the moss? A more feasible theory could be that due to the 90% water content of the sphagnum moss and it’s extremely cold environment high up in the Andes, it had frozen easily years before the ice glaciers were able to reach and encapsulate the moss. It would only require 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) to freeze the water within the moss and the Andes mountains are known to have temperatures. So in light of these facts, one can ponder on the thought that Earth did not experience a dramatic instant catastrophe.
To support this climatic change, ten years ago the availability of Himalayan crystal gemstones were rare, however this past year (2012), there are thousands for sale online and in retail stores. Could it be that due to the snow melting from up in the mountains have made it easier to find these crystals. Scientists have now confirmed that the Glaciers are receding at a faster rate in the Himalayas. This avalanche of melting snow glaciers is pushing down huge quantities of the Earth, which is pushed out onto the continental shelf and thus shifting the tectonic plates under Indonesia. Recently the world has seen a lot of activity in this region ranging from earthquakes to tsunamis.
In conclusion, the unveiling of the sphagnum moss in the glacier has revealed the probable theory that due to it’s water absorbent nature and it’s 90% water content, in conjunction with the extremely cold environment, that the freezing of the moss would have occurred over a long period of time and not as an instant occurrence. Our planet Earth has undergone through multitudes of climatic changes over millions of years. The last dramatic change 26,000 was not a quick rapid change of seasons but a gradual change all over the planet. Will Mother Earth be so kind this time?

End Of The World Prediction Statistics

SMH Newspaper reported 29th May that 10% of Australian believe that the world will end this year compared to 20 % of Chinese and Turks and 4% of Indonesians. Dr Gelfer from Monash University reported that there are two groups. Catastrophists who believe unknown destruction from solar flares to another meteorite impact to the larger group which have a more Utopian interpretation of shift in human nature not the end of the world.

NASA Vs. Mayan Alignment Date

NASA states that the alignment will not take place. Who is correct, ancient Mayan or modern day NASA? Also NASA is predicting massive solar flares in 2013 known as CMEs, Coronal Massive Ejections. NASA states that we are in a 11 year cycle that end in 2013. On 6th March we had X5.4 category ejection and largest was on 9th august a X6.9 ejection. Some ejections are million times larger than Earth and travel at 600 miles a second.
The communications industry is well aware of consequences of these CMEs and effects of solar flares, so be prepared for disturbance to your electronics equipment and maybe no mobile communications as these flares could destroy transformers in power grids also. These solar flares have been ongoing since millennium in cycles and we have all lived through them before. Even killer solar flares would not destroy earth but could heat up earth and effect out weather.
The Mayans really studied consequences of solar flares on the sun and effect on Earth ,but they didn’t have electronic equipment to measure. They did keep records of the sun activity and solar ellipses were well documented and their predictions were accurate. But Ancient Mayans ,and NASA could not predict when solar flares would happen. Maya long count calendar contains 144,000 days or 394.52 tropical years. Known as bakutan is 20 katun cycles of the ancient long count calendar. The classical period of Maya civilization was during 8th to 9th bakutans. The 13th, or present cycle will transpire on 13.0.0.0.0 orGMT December 12 th 2012
Some maya epigraphers think an error has been made in these calculations. Tzolk’in is the new age modern interpretation of the Dream spell Calendar which is still used in Guatemalan highlands today and is a 260 day calendar. Aztecs also had Mesoamerican calendar but Maya calendar is more documented than Aztec version.
