Confirming this week on NPR’s Fresh Air, Bradley Cooper who was in talks prior to the death of Chris Kyle, stated that he is slated to produce and star in a biopic on the slain Navy Seal based on Chris Kyle’s book American Sniper.
American Sniper is the best selling biography that documents Kyle’s four tours in Iraq where Kyle tallied over 150 enemy kills making him the most deadly sniper in American history.
Cooper stated in light of the recent event he is now fast tracking the project:
“His story first of all really needs to be told, and it’s also relevant on two fronts: gun control and the need to address the many soldiers who are coming back with PTSD. Medicine has evolved to such a state — soldiers are coming back and they’re going to assimilate into the culture and if we don’t address the mental state along with the physical state it’s going to be a problem.”
