CHCI Begins Accepting Applications for 2013 High School Leadership Program

Do you know a current high school freshman, sophomore, or junior? Then encourage them to apply for CHCI’s High School Latino Leaders in D.C. program! From now through Monday, April 8, high school leaders from specific cities can submit their applications to this wonderful and exiting program.

Selected participants will travel to Washington, D.C. during the week of July 14-19, 2013 to gain expansive knowledge about our democratic process, engage with Latino community leaders, and explore the nation’s Capitol.

This program is made possible at no cost to participants with the support of founding sponsor State Farm Insurance, as well as Southwest Airlines, the Official Airline Sponsor of CHCI’s 2013 Leadership Development Programs. The program is held in partnership with the Close Up Foundation.

In order to be eligible, students must reside in one of the following geographic regions:

    Chicago, IL
    New York, NY
    Dallas, TX
    Phoenix, AZ
    Los Angeles, CA
    San Antonio, TX
    Washington, D.C.

In addition to fulfilling the regional requirements, applicants must also:

    Be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student
    Demonstrate interest in learning more about civic engagement

Applications are due Monday, April 8, 2013 by 11:59 pm EST. To learn more about CHCI’s High School Latino Leaders in D.C. program visit their website.
