NRA President Responds To Being Called A Liar By President Obama (AUDIO)
Responding to President Obama’s accusation that the gun lobby was “willfully lying,” about the failed “Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013,” NRA President David Keene took to the airwaves. Appearing on “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL-FM in Washington DC, Keene decried the president’s criticism.
“He’s attacking the NRA, he’s attacking our members, he’s attacking citizens and senators of the United States, threatening them and all the rest. I think that’s really not a seemly way for the President of the United States to respond to a legislative defeat.
Calling attention to Obama’s duplicity, Keene noted, “he complained that we used the victims of these tragedies as props, and he did it while he was standing with all of these victims behind him, using them as props.”
Keene acknowledged the president’s discontent, but asserted “that doesn’t justify a public rant.” He went on to detail the NRA’s strategic plan to defeat further legislation, stating “we always step up to the plate for those whose support the Second Amendment.”
