At 0716 UT April 11th AR1719 erupted and produced an M6 solar flare. The explosion was recorded by NASA as an extreme ultraviolet flash. The expanding cloud of charged gas will deliver a glancing blow to Earth on the 12th or 13th of April. See the explosion here…
Todays sunspot number is 163 and NOAA estimate a 20% chance of further M class flares over the next 24 hours and a 0.1% chance of X class flares over the same time period.
