In my world of chasing unknown creatures and paranormal things, most of the time the people in the report are somewhat scared, if for no other reason, that people will think they’re nuts. In twenty-one years, I’ve yet to come across one who thought the reported adventure was in any way romantic. Neither did I when I was a child.
The things I saw and went through scared the pee out of me, let me tell you! Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee’s, job was to do just that…..make you wet your bed in terror…not find love! They done their job well to a young lad who always had a trusty pillow handy to hid their face in when the moment got too intense. Not to mention the number The Exorcist done.
Now we have all these romantic sorts that make people scream with romantic glee and cry when the beast passes. You EVEN have people wanting to be a vampire or other creature of the night because it’s just “so hot”! My how things change in they years. I wonder if Lon and they boys have turned in their graves yet?
I do wonder wheres the romance for the Bigfoot, Yeti, or perhaps the giant insects of the nuclear age world in which we once lived. Heather Gram and a few others seem to have forgotten those. Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees seem to be missing out on the love as well. Pure logic alone would seem that if one was a Heartthrob too. I guess times has a right to pass things over to the new guard as bad as some of us don’t want to let go of the batton. I do reserve the right to stake myself when all who report such things just want me to find it so they can date it or add it as a friend on facebook
