A senior British MP has called on the UK government to stand ready to intervene in Syria militarily to what he described as œpreventing al Qaeda getting hold of Syrian government™s chemical weapons”.
The British are anticipating that the popular government of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria will collapse irrespective of the fact that Assad government enjoys the full support of a majority of Syrians.
Andrew Rosindell, who sits on the foreign affairs committee, said if œBashar Assad™s [government] collapsed the weapons could be stolen by terrorists and used against the UK”.
œI would certainly advocate action to ensure the weapons are put beyond use and if it does mean going in for that purpose, it™s something we should seriously consider,” he said.
œIf they [chemical weapons] fell into the wrong hands that would be disastrous and you could end up with them being used against us – we would have to locate them and make sure action is taken to destroy them.”
This is exactly what Israeli regime™s authorities are propagating about Syria and its non-existent chemical weapons.
Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, a former Israeli war minister has asserted that he is œshocked by the world’s silence and that the West must intervene to stop Syria’s chemical weapons from falling to the wrong hand”.
The Israeli regime™s rhetoric against the Syrian government has been simultaneous with U.S. neo-cons™ increasingly hostile approach towards Syria.
In an article the Washington Post published on Friday, the US Senator Joseph Liebrman wrote that œthe [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad regime should be toppled by any means possible, be it foreign intervention or even airstrikes”.
“A more [US] comprehensive and coordinated effort [on Syria] is needed, together with the US regional partners, to support the anti al-Assad fighters with weapons, tactical intelligence and other lethal aid”, he said.
