CLEVELAND – Eight employees at NASA Glenn Research Center are in isolation after contact with a white substance, a NASA spokeswoman said.
At about 11 a.m. on Wednesday, employees at NASA Glenn who were exposed to a white substance developed a skin irritation, Lori Rachul with the NASA Glenn media relations office said. The employees were cleaning out a drawer when the substance was discovered.
The eight workers were isolated for evaluation by medical personnel. Rachul said another building was evacuated as a precaution.
Glenn protective services, and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport fire and rescue were alerted and responded. Berea, Strongsville and North Royalton fire departments are also on scene.
Rachul said a unified command team has been established.
