Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, PHILLIPINES. Mayor Magdaleno Pena found himself in hot water yesterday when police conducted a raid on his property in an effort against private armed groups from interfering in upcoming elections. Among the weapons found, Pena was in possession of 56 high-powered firearms, including seven AK-47s, two M-16s and 43 shotguns. The Mayor calls the roundup politically motivated, claiming the weapons are licensed.
