At least five Afghans have been killed in US-led airstrikes in the northeastern province of Kunar, Press TV reports.
The assaults took place in Chapa Dara district, located in the western part of Kunar province, late on Tuesday, local officials said.
According to the officials, the victims were all Taliban militants, who were gearing up to target local forces.
This is while the Taliban has yet to comment on the report.
Hundreds of civilians have lost their lives in US-led drone attacks, as well as ground military operations in different parts of the war-wrecked country.
The Afghan officials have repeatedly condemned US assassination drone attacks, saying civilians are the main victims of such horrendous incidents.
Meanwhile, the US has denied the allegations, claiming its operations target militants.
The growing civilian casualties have soured the relations between Kabul and Washington and have dramatically increased anti-US sentiments all across the country.
The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in October 2001 under the pretext of war on terror.
The military offensive caused the Taliban militants to lose power. However, the war-torn country is still grappling with insecurity, despite the presence of thousands of US-led troops.
