An anonymous submitter from St. Lucie County shared the following information via CopBlock.org’s submit page.
Judge Kathryn Maxine Nelson of the St. Lucie County criminal court is in charge of handling forty percent of the county’s misdemeanor criminal cases. This judge was arrested in Indian River County, FL for DUI and resisting arrest without violence. She is still presiding over criminal court cases and was never removed from office. At the time of her arrest, she refused to cooperate with police and denied the charges brought against her publicly. Go to WPTV.com or TCPalm.com to research these facts. Later, she decided to come clean and admit to her criminal acts only when a plea bargain was struck. The sentence included one year of probation, a $500 fine, DUI school and fifty hours of community service. Her charge of resisting arrest was dropped even though it took three officers to remove her from her vehicle. She was never removed from the bench, only reassigned to foreclosures temporarily. She is currently presiding over criminal cases in the St. Lucie County, Florida courthouse. She makes over $137,000 a year. Good ol’ boy system at it’s finest if you ask me.
