“When there are at least a given number of video clips with similar time stamps and geolocation stamps uploaded to a repository, it is inferred that an event of interest has likely occurred, and a notification signal is transmitted (e.g., to a law enforcement agency, to a news organization, to a publisher of a periodical, to a public blog, etc.).”

I feel the need to comment on this issue because I am such a tech-geek. While I absolutely love our electronic frontier, and the constant pushing of boundaries and new ideas, I am also a staunch privacy and Constitutional advocate. As our technology stretches into what was once only science fiction, it is hard to develop apps or widgets that provide services without them also invading our private lives.
I am interested to hear what you have to think about not only this Android patent, but the rapid growth of personal technology. Do you see this particular tech as a benefit or a hindrance? Perhaps the local cops show up to a backyard party that a group of teenagers are filming en masse, or a SWAT call-out because a street performer has just amazed a group of 200 tourists.
I know those are extreme examples, but we must explore these extremes due to the very nature of our extreme tech.
