Woman arrested after not returning movie she rented 9-years prior

Could you imagine being arrested for failing to return a movie you renter 9-years earlier? Well that’s just what happened to one South Carolina woman recently

INTELLIHUB
“Failure to return rented movie or cassette” is what the warrant said, after Kayla Finley found out when filing some paperwork with the city herself. Finley, 27, was arrested while down at the city office reporting a “crime”–that’s when reports say the police told her what she was being arrested for.

According to the police, Finley was sent a warning years prior and never responded.

Local residents who heard about the case are shocked, saying that there are likely better things to be spending our tax dollars on. “There is more I think we can be worried about then a movie that’s 9-years late”, said one resident.

So in case you are wondering what movie the woman was arrested over, let it be known it was a Jennifer Lopez flick called “Monster In-Law”.

Finley maintains that the arrest is ridiculous as the video store has been closed down for years. However, the police are charging the woman late fees now, not the original owner.
