Last week we reported on the shocking news that Mt. Gox Bitcoin exchange had mysteriously shut down, and that claims were circulating about massive amounts of missing Bitcoins. Now, CEO Mark Karpeles has issued an apology during a conference at the Justice Ministry in Tokyo.

More than $470 million of the virtual currency vanished last week. This resulted in a massive search for the missing money by victims and cybersleuths.
