To most of you who have probably grown up with the belief that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and that humans have only recently come into existence, this claim may seem a little far fetched. Creationist Ken Ham is claiming that an Allosaurus fossil that the Creation Museum is going to put on display will prove that human lived right alongside dinosaurs only a few short thousand years ago.

Ham claims that the great Biblical flood took place a little more than 4,000 years ago, which wiped out the dinosaurs at that time. His whole claim has traditional scientists metaphorically standing around and scratching their heads.
An Allosaurus fossil dug up in Colorado more than 10 years ago is becoming the center piece of a new exhibit at the Creation Museum, where it is going to be used as an example to explain how the events described in Genesis can be explained using dinosaur fossils. Ken Ham, founder of the Creation Museum, is hoping that those who view the exhibit will come to understand that the Biblical flood that supposedly took place only a few thousand years ago had wiped out the dinosaurs, and that only those creatures saved by Noah escaped the flood.

There is some evidence that in ancient times there was a flood across much of the surface of the Earth, but that is rarely (if ever) attributed to the mass extinction of the dinosaurs. Most scientists believe that the dinosaurs lived millions upon millions of years ago, and that humans only more recently came into existence in the past million or less years. This would mean that based on the conventionally accepted scientific model, that humans could not have ever co-existed with the dinosaurs that we find fossils of today. There are no human fossils that date back to the age of the dinosaurs, and in fact there are very few humanoid fossils that have ever been recovered. The lack of an established fossil records for humans and other similar humanoids makes it hard to substantiate claims that we have evolved over time from some sort of lesser being.  The lack of evidence for human existence in the far ancient past is commonly used as proof by mainstream creationists, who paint a picture of much younger life on this planet. Rather than the planet being billions of years old, and having been inhabited by creatures millions of years into our past, the creationists take their inspiration straight from the Bible. According to the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament, God created man, and we all descended from him. Historians have done a fairly accurate job using biblical records and other data to point towards a date only about 4,000 to 5,000 years ago when Adam supposedly was created. This information would mean that humans did not evolve from other humanoid creatures tens or hundreds of thousands of years ago, but rather just sprang up as God created us.  The most commonly taught and believed view of live on Earth does not evolve from the Bible anymore, and has taken its notes from mainstream science and doctrine. While a fossil of an Allosaurus may be proof that a giant dinosaur once roamed the Earth, it is probably going to take a lot more than that to convince visitors that humans hunted them for food more than 4,000 year ago. To most of you who have probably grown up with the belief that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and that humans have only recently come into existence, this claim may seem a little far fetched.
