Tracy Morgan Sues Walmart over Deadly Crash Last Month
Comedian Tracy Morgan is suing Walmart after one of Walmart’s long haul trucks rear ended his limo last month. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in New Jersey on July 10, 2014.
Morgan, was in the limo at the time of accident, suffered broken ribs, a broken nose and a broken leg in the crash. His friend and fellow comedian James McNair was killed and various other people of Morgan’s entourage were injured.
The Walmart truck driver who rear-ended Morgan’s limo was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit and was almost at his drive time limit, according to a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board.
“The defendants’ negligence was a substantial contributing factor in causing plaintiffs’ injuries,” the complaint stated.
