Two firearms arrests in Oxnard on July 4th

On July 4th at approximately 9:00 PM officers responded to the area of 900 Cooper Road reference subjects using illegal fireworks.  Officers contacted 36 year old Genaro Cortes as he attempted to leave the area.  Cortes interfered with the investigation.  He was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun that was not registered to him.  […]
