Corey Griffin, Drowned. Ice Bucket sacrifice?

I just found this on the independent.co.uk. 21.8.2014.  Corey Griffin the ALS ice bucket challenge guy dove off a warf on Nantucket Island, MA.  He came up once, then submerged again into the water.  Age 27, a philanthropist.  Griffin: a mythical creature with the head and upper torso of an eagle and the lower body of a lion.  Sometimes with wings. Often seen in heraldry, meaning courage and boldness.  The U.S. is identified with the eagle, Great Britain with the lion.
