Hell Just Froze Over: The View Panel Agrees That Women Should Have a Gun

I guess liberals are finally waking up to the fact that giving women the one self-defense option of simply peeing or puking on their attacker didn’t come back with resounding popularity numbers. I mean…what if I hadn’t eaten anything that day or happened to be a bit dehydrated? I guess I’d be out of luck.

Gun control is always a hot topic on the View and mostly dominated by a consensus that bigger government needs to come in and disarm the citizens in effort to protect us from ourselves. Rarely are they called on to actually define what that means and how that will make us safer since criminals aren’t known to be law-abiding citizens by their very nature. But, it’s the popular liberal line and it sure makes everyone feel good to jump on that bandwagon.

However, in discussing an ad by Everytown For Gun Safety this week three out of the four women on The View panel passionately agreed that if someone were to come into their home that they would want to be on equal or stronger ground than the intruder by having a firearm readily available to them for self-protection. From Newsbusters:

First up Shepherd offered her “flipside” to the ad that featured a man assaulting her mother and child with a gun: “The flipside is when I was at my home and the alarm went off, and I ran to my son’s bedroom and Jeffrey was crying, and I realized all I had to protect me and somebody coming around that corner was a daggone wicker trash basket. And I said to myself and everybody said to me, ‘well get a bat.’ You got one chance to use a bat and if they take it away. ‘Get pepper stray.’ You know how close they got to get to you, if you use pepper spray? You got one of these? [makes a gesture like she’s holding a gun and makes a sound of cocking a gun] They’re not gonna come near you and your child! So when you’re standing there, and you don’t know how to protect your child? Get a gun in your home!”

You see, liberal opinions aren’t governed by that little ol’ thing called the Constitution- but more often by their “feelings” and political correctness. Progressives are persistent in trampling all over your rights as an American citizen– until they figure out they need them too.

Of course, the lone dissenter who felt it would just be too “scary” to own a gun was Lara Spencer from GMA. I guess she’ll just blow on that little rape whistle as loud as possible from her hiding place in the closet and hope someone other than the assaulter hears it should she ever find herself in that unfortunate scenario. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the .357 magnum and pray I have more bullets than the bad guy. Oh, and with the price of ammo these days- don’t expect a warning shot.
