The Huffington Post Morphs Into A Full-Blown Tabloid

The Mainstream Media Begins To Follow Suit

CAVEAT:  This post contains sexually suggestive content which Storyleaks.com does not like to disseminate or be associated with in any way.  However, only for the purposes of illustrating the state of contemporary journalism did the authors find it necessary to post what many might not have believed.  For those who may be offended, please be aware that there are no sexually explicit photos is this article, although one photo comes close.

Only because of its extraordinary Alexa.con rank must The Huffington Post be viewed as a mainstream media outlet.  It is HUGE according to all the metrics that are used to gauge the true size and reach of any given news media platform.  What follows are the most basic numbers which inform about how massive a news website the HuffPo has become.

For anyone who doesn’t know how to interpret the numbers shown above, that #21 indicates that it is the 21st largest site in the US; the 73 Global Rank speaks for itself. Yes, the HuffPo has grown into a real Godzilla, both figuratively and literally.

Can you imagine if the NYT, WashPo, USA Today, WSJ CNN, MSNBC, or ABC filled their front pages with the kind of trash that HuffPo routinely places on their home page … up high in the right column.

It is supposed to be a news website, yet they post the likes of the following types of articles on a daily basis. Please understand that every one one of these headlines and corresponding photos were taken from the HuffPo today — Saturday, August 9, 2014.  They all appeared in the right column at the very same time to the dismay of those whom we queried.

The Mainstream Media has become saturated with sexually oriented graphics, copy, advertisements and innuendo like never before. The Huffington Post, however, takes the prize for posting more sexual content than any other MSM website in the world, with the exception of the Daily Mail in the UK. This poses a very slippery slope for the rest of the MSM. Because they know that the HuffPo is both very large and influential, they, too, are posting more and more sexually graphic content in order to compete.

Isn’t this how it always starts? The competition for scarce advertising dollars has never been fiercer and the HuffPo figured out how to capitalize online because that’s where they started. The much older MSM outlets are relatively new to this game and therefore slow to follow the horrible HuffPo example of how to do journalism. Nevertheless, they are slowly catching on where it concerns their online platforms, which does not bode well at all for the future of American journalism.

Truly, The Huffington Post has deteriorated into a real tabloid trash platform. We just thought it ought to be brought to the attention of those who may not have noticed because their strategy has been quite insidious — with each passing day there is a little more offensive material for the regular visitor to deal with.

Now many may ask why even go there. Because HuffPo does also post some worthwhile stories which we have benefited from. In some cases they have featured the work of some investigative journalists which was quite excellent.

Most importantly, The Huffington Post does accurately reflect the deterioration of society. Nothing tears at the social fabric more than the gratuitous posting of sexually explicit material. On that score, HuffPo has no peer in America given its sheer size. There are many young and impressionable people who go there regularly and who think it’s all very cool. It isn’t cool — many of the articles in the right column are degrading, sleazy and crass.

By the way, it isn’t just sexually explicit photos and print which serve to desensitize their readership. The many sexually suggestive pics and headlines found daily at HuffPo also perform a great disservice to folks who just want to read the ‘stupid’ newspaper in the morning without being assaulted with so much garbage. There – WE SAID IT! ! !
