Internet games has become a social issue in the contemporary world. It has become more or less a vice for those who are addicted to playing them. Nonetheless, the advent of modern technology is one of the greatest things to happen in human history. Evolution and revolution is everywhere, but nothing could be more fascinating than the computer game evolution. Online and computergaming are becoming more and more popular as years passed. Although a lot of these games had been created, there are still those that stand out among the rest. On the following top ten list, we will be pulling out 10 of the mostly played online games out there.

 

10. Smite

Who hasn’t pondered the thought of being a God with incredible powers? I know I have. Here’s the Smite game — the game where you get to live that dream you’ve dreamt of all your life, and often devastating, glory. With easy-to-learn gaming mechanics, and a bevy of mythological gods and goddesses to choose from, it has become one of the most played games of 2013 and is continuing its streak for 2014.

 

9. League of Legends

This online battle arena game was published and developed by Riot Games for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. The game’s official release game was in 2009 and since then gained much popularity among online gamers. The famous Forbes magazine in one of their articles cited the game to be the most played online game basing on the number of hours played in 2012. That was during that year and as of 2014, there were about 67 million players recorded. In this game, players are to control a champion, instead of developing a character and battle another player or a bot.

 

8. Lineage II

Solitaire is a very popular card game that also goes by the name of Patience or Klondike. Like many old games, the exact origins is not well-known, and the earliest documentation is from a German book in 1783. It rose in popularity in Europe throughout the 1800′s, and with the advent ofcomputers has seen a resurgence in popularity. Solitaire is one of the most popular games of all time. The game is played with a single pack of 52 playing cards. After thoroughly shuffling the deck, 28 cards are dealt face down to form the tableau which consists of 7 columns of 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7 overlapping cards from left to right respectively. The exposed card at the end of each tableau column is turned face up. The remaining cards are placed face down to form the stock. The game then begins.The goal of the game is to construct the four foundations up in ascending suit sequence from Ace to King. e.g. A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K with cards of identical suit.

 

7. Guild Wars II

Guild Wars 2 is a multiplayer online role-playing game created by ArenaNet and published by NCsoft. Set in the fantasy world of Tyria, the game explores the re-emergence of Destiny’s Edge, a disbanded guild dedicated to battling the Elder Dragons, a Lovecraftian species that has taken over Tyria in the time since the original Guild Wars. The game takes place in a persistent world with a story that progresses in instanced environments. Guild Wars 2’s wicked servers let you play immediately, without any waiting. It’s a wonderful pressure-release valve that gets everyone in pronto, no waiting, and when you’ve cleared the queue, all you need do to load into the main server is press “yes” when asked.

This game is highly recommended for serious players out there and also for neophytes since this game’s interface is simple enough and easy to use. Perhaps, it is one of the best MMORPG ever created. This game could be compared to the collectible card game called Magic: The Gathering due to the way the different skills in this game interact. There are also a lot of options and the game offers several missions with different era and environment. The Guild Wars was first released in April 26, 2005 with its latest release in August 28, 2012 supporting all Microsoft Windowsplatform.
