CALGARY — Monday’s snowfall was a shock to the system for Calgarians, who were basking in balmy weather just hours earlier.
The temperature plummeted from a summery high of 25 C Sunday to the freezing point Monday, and several centimetres of snow accumulated in many parts of the city and surrounding areas.
“It’s just a shock to the system,” Environment Canada meteorologist Bill McMurtry said.
“Many people were out in the sun, enjoying nice warm temperatures (Sunday) and (Monday) people are looking out their windows going, ‘It’s snowing.’
“It just shows you how much things can change in 24 hours. The general consensus is it’s too early.”
The people aren’t wrong.
Even from a scientific standpoint, it’s strange to have a significant dump of snow this early in the transition to fall.
“It’s early, no question about that,” McMurtry said.

India just got hit with horrible floods – These horrible flash floods seems to be popping up all over the world, no place is safe. Not even up in the mountains of Colorado!
Also, we’ve got another Polar Vortex scheduled to drop down to the midwest & East later this week in the United States to drop us to freezing temperatures in September.
2014 is weird and it’s just getting weirder.

I agree Gspat to a degree. I went in halves on a house in the mountains with my Mother and lost a cool $34,000. But now that house is under 20 feet of snow caused by The Reptilians, The Pleiadians, HAARP, The SUPER SPACE COMMAND, or El Nina. But it still could be her fault because she has a “stare” that can instantly freeze anyone in their tracks.
