John McCain suffers major memory lapse
John McCain has previously been the object of scorn and in larger numbers
In a collection of recent tweets from the past week, the daily newspaper has this gem from Arizona’s senior senator:
“First I was sanctioned by Vladimir Putin, then #ISIS labeled me “the enemy,” now Fidel Castro! Who’s next?!”
In an obvious memory lapse, McCain appears to have forgotten a “sanction” or two that preceded them all. Right here in Arizona, a state he visits infrequently, McCain was more than sanctioned. He was repeatedly censured by elected members of the party he claims to represent.
This past January elected GOP state committeemen representing Republican voters throughout Arizona assembled at their annual Statutory Meeting of the State Committee of the Arizona Republican Party and voted overwhelming to censure McCain.
That vote came on the heels of a similar vote of censure by the Maricopa County Republican elected precinct committeemen. In a stern rebuke of his increasingly liberal positions and abandoning the Republican platform to join with Democrats on significant issues, the vote to censure McCain passed overwhelmingly — 1,150 in support with only 351 opposed. Other counties statewide joined Maricopa in expressing deep dissatisfaction with McCain. Apache, Cochise, Gila, Mohave and Santa Cruz counties all passed Censure Resolutions.
When it comes to dissatisfaction with McCain, no one knows him better than those he has repeatedly deceived for the past three+ decades. Arizonan Republicans were first in line imposing sanctions on John McCain by way of repeated censures.
Since the word ‘sanction’ has two distinct —– and opposite meanings —- the often confused McCain could mean he has the explicit or official approval of Putin, ISIS and Castro, rather than their attempts to limit him. Merriam-Webster Dictionary’s description of the word ‘sanction’ can be read here.
