Torture has always been part of our history and in some places all around the world, there are those that practice the worst kinds of torture using devices that you could never ever think of. Here are the top 10 worst torture devices in history.
10. Punishing Shoes
According to the European history, this has got to be one of their worst devices when it comes to torture. Who knew that the shoes we comfortably wear every single day of our lives were alsoused to model a torture device. These are the so called punishing shoes. They are often usedtogether with a pillory. A pillory is another torture device that keeps your head and wrists in place while you stand. The punishing shoes are designed to make you rest on your heels on the iron spikes inside it. They will make you stand for hours and hours until you can’t take it no more.
9.Head Crusher
Even by the name itself, the head crusher already sounds deadly and very dangerous. This is how the head crusher works, the head of the person is placed under the upper cap while the chin is at the above of the bottom bar, then the top screw of the head crusher is slowly turned and that’s when the nightmare begins. It compresses the skull very tightly and it hits first the teeth wherein it is destroyed, shattered and the jaw at the same time if splintered. The eyes of the person will be squeezed and the skull will be crushed. There is nothing more painful than this.

This is mostly used to get a confession out of the suspect back then. A cat’s paw or sometimes called Spanish ticker is attached to the torturer’s hand to make it look like an extension that can rip and tear through flesh and bone. So the suspect might think twice about lying or not saying the truth with the sight of this in the hand of the torturer.
6. Dunking Stool
This dunking stool is used primary for women. It functions as to deep the one being tortured into the river or pool or any body of water available for as long as the torturer wants. This is really designed to eventually drown the person because he or she strapped in the tool with no chance of escaping. This was for women because people thought then that this was less harsh for those females that are being tortured and they want to give them a death that involves no sharp objects.
