Ebola

Ethan A. Huff

(NaturalNews) One of the primary lessons being learned from the Ebola crisis is that fancy meds and vaccines aren’t needed to cure the disease. Simple water, it turns out, is one of the best treatments for the hemorrhagic illness, supplying the body with much-needed hydration that is quickly lost when the advanced stages of nausea and vomiting begin to develop.

Drinking four liters, or about one gallon, of water daily is critical for surviving the infection, say scientists. And rehydration solutions containing water with added minerals like potassium and magnesium are even better for overcoming the extreme shock that occurs when the body loses too much water, such as with Ebola.

“When people are infected, they get dry as a crisp really quickly,” said Simon Mardel, an emergency room doctor advising the World Health Organization (WHO) on Ebola in Sierra Leone, the second-hardest-hit country besides Liberia. “Then the tragedy is that they don’t want to drink.”

Rescue hydration helped American healthcare workers survive Ebola

Water was the key to saving two American healthcare workers who were treated for Ebola at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, this past summer. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) explains how intravenous rehydration corrected their electrolyte deficiencies and intramuscular water losses, allowing for more rapid and efficient healing.

“We undertook aggressive supportive measures of hydration (typically, 3 to 5 liters of intravenous fluids per day early in the course of care) and electrolyte correction,” explains the study. “As the patients’ condition improved clinically, there was a concomitant decline in the amount of virus detected in plasma.”

  • if you have a hemorrhagic virus that is causing the breakdown of vascular tissue and profuse bleeding, and you do something that will necessarily THIN YOUR BLOOD, then you’re only GOING TO DIE FASTER.

this is very, very, VERY bad advice.

    • also, a while back i noticed that there were multiple stories posted at BIN on a single day about there being “two suns” in the sky (this is a phenomenon known as parhelia, or “sun dogs,” but of course on BIN it means that there is literally another sun that magically appeared in the sky). i remembered that pete santilli posted one of those stories a while before this, and searched for it. lo and behold, it was posted a year prior to these new sun dog stories, almost to the day.

TODAY, there seem to be multiple stories on BIN related to drinking enormous quantities of water.

now, it may just be me, and i’m seeing trends that mean nothing, but something tells me there’s a reason for things like this – some reason related to the respective topics combined with the date/time of year. they also all seem to get to be “recommended” articles, and boosted to the front page although they’re absurd and there are hundreds of better, reality-based articles on those days.

again, perhaps i’m just being overly paranoid.

seriously, though: on the extremely slim, infinitesimal, incredibly outside chance that any of you get ebola, DON’T do this
