Man gets shot by wife after he tries to run her over with a truck during domestic dispute

A domestic dispute in New Orleans Friday turned deadly when a woman fatally shot her husband after he attempted to run over her and their children with a truck.

The couple had been arguing at their home and when the woman tried to leave, the man, who was later identified as Steven Swanson, 50, refused to let the woman and their children go.

At some point, the man got in a truck and attempted to run over his family. It was then that the woman, whose identity has been withheld, opened fire on her husband. Swanson was shot several times and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

It’s unknown how many children were in the home, their ages, or how much of the violence they witnessed.

The investigation is ongoing and the woman has not been charged.
