TND Article Spotlight, by Eric Dubin |
Journalist and national security analyst Wayne Madsen published an article today at The 5th Estate that outlines five key issues that don’t add up. For starters, Haron Man Monis, the “terrorist”, claimed to be an Iranian sheikh, and Iran is an avowed enemy of ISIL — to the point of even conducting air raids on ISIL targets in Iraq.
Clearly, Monis was unhinged. But just because he was crazy and just because any link to Iran should be seen as improbable to any informed observer, it may not make much difference to media lap dogs. For propaganda value, this evolving story might still be used to paint Iran in a negative light. Keep an eye on this part of the story.
The model of using “useful idiots” and patsies comes to mind as well, given that authorities have apparently been keeping tabs on Monis. Sky News reported that he was “well known” among authorities and the media. Obviously, this proves nothing without much more corroborating evidence. But if this was some sort of false flag operation, it would not be surprising to learn that authorities have had far more than just a casual interest in (and, perhaps, relationship with…) Monis.
