Alaska State Troopers are responding to a mid-air plane crash in the Mat-Su Valley, a spokesperson Megan Peters said in an email.
Troopers received reports of a plane crash around 1:05 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. First reports were regarding a mid-air crash.
“At this time first responders are attempting to get on scene of the wreckage,” Peters wrote.
The National Transportation Safety Board has assigned three investigators to the case, chief investigator Clint Johnson said.
Also, Troopers have requested the 176th wing rescue squadron to help, said Lt. Col. Candis Olmstead of the National Guard.
