UPDATE: After calling all night through to the hospital, and getting someone good at the British embassy, I have an update.
His diagnosis is Pneumococcal Meningitis.
He is in critical condition. He has awoken from his coma twice, his girlfriend fortunately has been with him round the clock bedside.
An anonymous source from the embassy confirmed with me, unofficially, that information.
His prognosis is poor – he has a 50/50 chance to live. If he lives, we cannot guarantee we’ll have him back as we know him.
But we pray.
